Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 1, 2026
Secrat does not collect, store, or share any personal data. We don't use cookies, we don't run analytics, and we don't know who you are. Your searches are routed through third-party SearXNG instances that we do not operate.
What We Collect
✓ Nothing.
Secrat does not collect any personally identifiable information. We do not store your IP address, search queries, browser fingerprint, or any usage data. There are no accounts, no login systems, and no cookies placed on your device.
How Search Works
When you perform a search on Secrat, your query is sent directly from your browser to a randomly selected SearXNG instance. Secrat's servers are not involved in processing your search query in any way.
SearXNG is an open-source, privacy-respecting metasearch engine. Each instance is operated independently by volunteers around the world. We select instances that:
- Use HTTPS encryption
- Report no analytics or tracking
- Are publicly available and operational
We source the instance list from searx.space, which is maintained by the SearXNG community.
Third-Party Instances
Your searches are processed by third-party SearXNG instances. While we filter for instances that declare no tracking, Secrat cannot guarantee the privacy practices of these independently operated servers. We recommend reviewing the privacy policy of the specific instance shown before searching if you require absolute certainty.
Cookies & Local Storage
Secrat does not use cookies, local storage, or any client-side tracking technologies. Nothing is written to your device by our website.
Analytics & Tracking
We do not use Google Analytics, Cloudflare Analytics, or any other analytics platform. There are no tracking pixels, social media widgets, or third-party scripts embedded in our pages beyond the Google Fonts stylesheet for typography.
If you wish to block the Google Fonts request, you may use a content blocker. The site will fall back to system fonts gracefully.
Changes to This Policy
If we ever update this policy, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the change. We will never introduce data collection practices without making them clearly visible here.
